I stopped having the parties about a year after the 9/11 tragedy and dedicated my volunteer time to working with The ACTG - the largest AIDS Clinical Trial Group Internationally, which was the group Larry Kramer and ACTUP stormed to be part of in the late 1980's. -- The curtain was originally The backdrop from The Gilgamesh Opera performed in the early years of The Pyramid Club by Madame (Larry Ree) and John Kelly and their famous ballet troupe. Tava59 This print depicts a color photograph from Bernard Holmberg of a woodcut carving out the figure of a Well-Endowed Man with His Red Tool In Hand and one of his tits pierced with a Gold Ring. Tava rubbed the wood with bright red ink, and stamped posters asking our friends to donate "Rubbers for Poland," when Poland was still part of the Soviet Bloc. It seems one of our gay brothers in Poland wrote an article, that Tava read, insisting that the Polish leaders in power were not allowing gay men to have access to prophylactics during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic. Years later, we discovered his claims were false, but dared not tell our friends that our cause was an empty one. Afterall, our generous friends were getting the "Rubbers for Poland" for free (in the good old days -- early eighties), and if our Polish friends weren't getting their needed safety devices, it was a cause well worth fighting for. -- Tava and I would often fight for causes, even though they were, at times, often obscure or misdirected. Photograph Circa 1995

Tava69 The Final print was always sold separately & depicts the section of the mural Tava Never Painted, at least not on any outdoor mural. -- It is the Center to the The Monument Redefined Exhibit Circa 1982 in Tava's Print 32, for which Tava was awarded first prize. -- Twelve Guardians stand on either side of the kissing lovers, Harmodius And Aristogeiton, and protect the sanctity of their love FOREVER -- This piece will never satisfy the "Fine Art" Critics, who feel "Homosexual Love" is not "acceptable" as a "Great Theme" and therefore, should not be portrayed, -- I Hope Now We All Understand At Least One Of Tava's Concepts: -- Homosexual Love Is Worthy And MUST Be Considered In "The Realm of Fine Art," As Well As In The Realm Of Our Reality -- Our Daily Social Freedoms --
