Tava's Art Prints Described

[Part 2]

----

Tava23
This print depicts
Two Men
photographed through a red gel.
One man,
waiting to be fisted
is jerking the other's
Cock

Tava24
This print depicts
Gilgamesh
holding his
Large Clipped Cock
which is pierced
with a
Gold Ring At Its Tip.
He is facing northward
looking at
Enkidu
(not shown in this print).

Tava25
This print depicts
both
Gilgamesh And Enkidu
on the same pier as
Print 24.
The original
100' by 34'
acrylic on corrugated iron mural
(Circa 1979)
was huge.
The Landmark's Preservation Society
tried to keep the pier from
being torn down,
but failed to do so.
MOMA (The Modern Museum of Art)
also wanted to save the mural for their collection,
but it would have been too difficult
and too costly
to remove and preserve.
Instead, they wrote about Tava & his art in one of their publications.

Tava26
This print depicts
what has become known
by
Tava and I
as the
"Golden Asshole."
Originally the
59 1/2" by 29 3/4"
acrylic on corrugated iron piece
(Circa 1978)
represented either
Harmodius or Aristogeiton,
but because Tava's generosity was
taken advantage of by one of his
"friends"
before we met,
and he lost clothing, money and jewelry,
he decided to rename it
"The Golden Asshole."
Tava's original piece
was a rear view of Harmodius or Aristogeiton.
After the piece was robbed by gay "friends,"
& after Tava recovered it,
he put
gold leave on the figure's
asshole,
and there it remains and fades
to this day!
I'm sure you thiefs know
Who You Are!

Tava27
This print depicts
The always
Golden Haired Gilgamesh
on one of
New York City's Piers
wearing an iron arm band.
Acrylic on Corrugated Iron
(Circa 1978)

Tava28
This print depicts
the upper torso of the always dark-haired
Harmodius
on broken marble
with a golden hue surrounding it.
From the
Tomb of Harmodius
(Circa 1980-1981)

Tava29
This print
depicts
The Golden Sarcophagus Lid
from
The Tomb of
Harmodius and Aristogeiton.
The original
Gold Gilt On Marble Lid
is
78 1/4" by 34 1/2" by 1 1/2"thick
and
The Two Guardians
are
acrylic  and metal leaf on corrugated iron
113" by 35" each.
(Circa 1980-1981)

Tava30
This print depicts
Enkidu
wearing an iron mask
on one of the
New York City Piers,
pointing his
Erect Cock - Pierced With
A Gold Ring
toward
Gilgamesh
(not shown in this print).
--
The original
acrylic on corrugated iron
100' by 34' mural
was almost designated as a landmark
by
The Landmark Preservation
Society,
But they failed in their attempts
to get the mural approved.
(Circa 1979)

Tava31
This print depicts
Ageius,
(possibly)
 a Classic Greek Wrestler.
(If anyone has any more information it would be appreciated!)
--
Tava
painted the original
acrylic on fabric
88" by 67"
painting ,philanthropically , for the
National Art Museum Of Sports.
(Circa 1976).
The piece was an early work, I'm sure,
because Tava always hated it
and made me quickly put it away
whenever I was doing my
Spring Cleaning.

Tava32
This print is from

 The Monument Redefined Exhibit
[read more in "Harmodius Section" on this website]

and
depicts the
Guardians To The Tomb Of
Harmodius And Aristogeiton
without
The Kiss Between The Lovers
which would not have been acceptable
as
"Fine Art,"
because it depicted the actual
"Kiss"
between two men,
by the critics of the day.
--
Tava won first place for this exhibit
chosen over such famous artists as
Cristo & his wife.
--
The original
acrylic on concrete blocks
spanned at least
200 - 300 feet in length,
ommitting the central figures kissing
on the outside mural
to make a statement about the
art critics snub of
Homosexual Love.
(Circa 1982)

Tava33
This print is
a black and white photograph of
Tava
standing beside his
Mural Of Enkidu
In An Iron Mask.
Tava was six feet tall and was almost as large as
Enkidu's Cock!

Tava34
This print is a
color photograph of
Tava near his interior mural of
A Man And A Dolphin.
The blonde
"Primitive Man"
is standing
Fully Erect
with his arms raised in the air.
(Circa 1977)

Tava35
This print depicts
The Iron-Masked Enkidu
surrounded by the half-naked
Pier "Sunbathers."
--
(Read Pier Section on this website)

Tava36
This print is a
color photograph of Tava
in a plaid shirt and
red hanky in his back pocket
pretending to paint
[posing for the photograph,
although this was the way he usually did paint]
 Gilgamesh
on pier 51.
--
As I've already mentioned
Tava usually
painted either nude or in a jockstrap!
[see Print 42]
(Circa 1979)

Tava37
This print depicts
Gilgamesh's and Enkidu's
upper torsos and their
Large Cocks
in their hands.
This print is framed in brown.

Tava38
This print depicts
Harmodius
painted in acrylic on corrugated iron
and wearing a
Gold Gilt Cock Ring.
His body is washed in dark brown tones.

(Circa 1979)

Tava39
This print depicts
Two
"Primitive Men"
sketched standing
Back to Back.
One has a beautiful
"Bubble Butt."
The other man is
"Beating His Cock"
The original was scratched out
on a broken concrete wall
of one of the interiors
of the piers.
The concrete's
Broken Wire Supports
are visibly twisted around the piece.
(Circa 1978)

Tava40
This print depicts
a close-up view
of the
Man's Face
from the
"Man and the Dolphin"
print.
An open can of paint with lid
lies nearby.

Tava41
This print depicts
Tava
representing
Christ,
in the rarely seen
pornographic film
"Him -- The Sex Life Of Christ."
Tava is naked
holding a full size cross
over his shoulders
and passing a store window that reads
"Mutual Screw & Supplies."
It's a
"Great Fun Print."
Ironically, I saw this film in the 1970's
at the Adonis Theater years before
meeting Tava.
--
Photograph in Black and White
(Circa 1973)
--
Note--I'm trying to find
more information on
this obscure film and photograph
which I viewed at the Adonis Theater
Way before I met Tava.

Tava42
This print depicts
Three Color Photographs:
The center is a woodcut rubbed with red ink of
The Man and The Dolphin.
It is flanked by twin photographs of
Tava
painting the pier murals
In The Nude
with the Jersey Side of
The Hudson River
in the background.
There is a print that was made into a postcard
that showed only
Tava's boots
on one of the ladder's lower rungs.
 --
The rest of Tava's
"Painting Outfit"
was usually only a chewed up jock strap,
or
Nothing At All!

Tava43
This print depicts
A large mural of
Gilgamesh And Enkidu
on the piers wearing
Iron Arm Bands,
and flanked by
Two Playful Blue Dolphins.
The original was a huge mural done with
Acrylic on Corrugated Iron.

Tava44
This print depicts a mask of
"The Earth Mother And Mistress Of All Creation:
The Goddess Ninhursag"
also known as "Aruru,"
from
The Gilgamesh Opera
performed in the early years of
The Pyramid Club
by
Madame
 (Larry Ree)
 and
 John Kelly
(Who many may remember performing as Joni Mitchell annually at Wigstock)
and their famous ballet troupe.

Tava45
This print depicts a mask
"Shamat"
The alcolyte in
"The Temple In Honor Of The Goddess Inanna."
from
The Gilgamesh Opera
performed in the early years of
The Pyramid Club
by
Madame (Larry Ree) and John Kelly
and their famous ballet troupe.

Tava46
This print depicts a mask that might represent
"Enlil"
The god whom decides
"That Enkidu Should Die"
from
The Gilgamesh Opera
performed in the early years of
The Pyramid Club
by
Madame (Larry Ree) and John Kelly
and their famous ballet troupe.
